The Bad News
First, the bad news – a recent LxAdmin security announcement has a very important recommendation for all VPSLink subscribers running our HostInABox / LxAdmin OS templates:
Run /script/upcp immediately
This is not a drill. Vulnerabilities which could affect the operation of your virtual private server have been patched – you need this patch immediately.
The Good News
… fortunately, we have two items of good news as well:
1. Our template developers will have the default VPSLink HostInABox templates updated and patched in the very near future – we’ll post an announcement to the LXAdmin / HostInABox subforum when they are ready (until then, use the aforementioned update script – you need it)
2. The winners of May 2009 VPSLink Scavenger Hunt have been selected – their best-rated 404 page finds have been posted here and notification e-mails have been sent
(Of course, this may not be good news to the 47 other contestants who scouted out all manner of amusing, informative, and bewildering 404 page URL’s – but do not despair! There’s a new scavenger hunt for June and, so far, the competition is far from fierce)
